President Goodluck Jonathan is currently recuperating in London after medical practitioners examined him and recommended that he needed to rest.
Jonathan, who flew to London on Wednesday to keep a date with investors at the Nigeria’s Honorary International Investors’ Council in London, was said to have been “indisposed” and could not attend the opening of the meeting.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, on Thursday, however, assured Nigerians that Jonathan’s health did not call for concern as the check-up was “only precautionary.”
Abati said, “In the course of his on-going visit to London for a meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investors’ Council, President Goodluck Jonathan became indisposed and could not be present at the opening of the meeting today.
“President Jonathan has since been examined by competent medical practitioners. He has been advised to rest for a few days.
“The Presidency wishes to assure all Nigerians that President Jonathan’s condition is nothing serious and that the medical attention he has sought is only precautionary.”
