Since the return to democracy in 1999, the Nigerian governors have become a powerful force in our match towards democracy.
They have become so powerful that when they sneezes, the powers in Abuja shivers.
They also determine those that occupies seats at the Senate, House of Representatives, State Houses of Assembly ,Local Government Chairmen,Board of Parastatals and even nominate Ministers .
The powers of the governors are so enormous that some of them acts like Lords over their subjects. Their words are laws.
In this euphoria, some of them forget their primary roles of bringing the dividends of democracies to their various States.
Recently, some governors have been seen to be very outstanding in terms of performances in their various States due to their various people oriented programmes.
Of late, there have been a lot of discuss over the best performing governors in Nigeria not minding the various problem facing the Nigeria Governors forum.
The front runners in terms of achievements are Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State,Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State,Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State,Sullivan Chime of Enugu State,Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers,Rabiu Kwankwanso of Kano State as well as Sule Lamido of Adamawa State.
