NIGERIA GOVT LAUNCHES THE EASIEST AND SUREST ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Federal Government of Nigeria today launched a new Housing scheme which she says is the one time solution to challenges of housing acquisition and development in the country.

The scheme is said to be of Three key characteristics:

1. AFFORDABLE               

The Affordable Homes is a pilot project championed by the Federal Ministry of Finance in partnership with the Federal Ministy of Lands, Housing & Urban Development, the Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company, the World Bank and the State Governments.

 

2.ACCESSIBILITY

This project is targetted at FIRST TIME Home Owners only, who are tax compliant and earn a regular income. Applicantions are welcome from interested participants from any part of Nigeria. Qualified applications are selected through Lottery and handled by Primary Mortgage Institutions.

3.AVAILABILITY

The 1st 10,000 Affordable Homes Programme is available to all Nigerians who are qualified to obtain and maintain mortgages. These mortgages are available for up to 20 years and at very low interest rates.
